Location: Duluth, MN | Just thought i would share an easy mod we made to the cowgirl that my son caught the 53" on. He also caught his former PB 48.5 on the exact same lure 4 years ago. It's been retired a twisted mess.
Who knows if it made a difference. I personally think most of the time when a fish is going to hit it doesn't matter what the lure looks like. But on this bait i added a small strip of glowin outdoors tape.
When trying to fish at night timing a figure 8 with a bucktail is almost impossible. I've tried the small glow beads in front of the leader but those don't last more than a couple minutes. The outdoors tape lasts a long time and is much brighter and the fish don't seem to mind it. You can see it coming 10 feet away and make a perfect figure 8 every time. The 53 was not caught at night but we do fish in very dark water. The 48.5 he caught was 10:30 at night pitch dark.
