Having trouble with my AbuGarcia 7000iC3 ,,,, when I am getting ready to cast, in order to disengage the reel (pull the engagement lever back) the reel handle must be either parallel to the rod or perpendicular to the rod for some reason ?? ,,,, anybody else have this issue ?? and once in awhile, when I go to engage the reel after a cast by turning the handle, the reel doesnt engage ?? ----- maybe its time to get it serviced ----- thanks ------ jimjimjim

Common problem with these reels. You can either move the crank to a different position that allows the lever to come all the way back, grind two of the reset pins off of the anti reverse cog plate, or get rid of the reel. This very reason is why myself and many others prefer the older push button versions.

I just made mine a fully manual reel, so i'm also sure i does not engage mid cast, works perfect.
