My buddy owns a house on white sand lake and invited me up for a week in August. I've never heard of the lake before. Is it worth bringing my boat and musky gear or no?

the biggest tip would be to make sure you know someone where you can keep your boat and truck vs. the landing. you've got that covered so that gives you some nice access.

lots of friendly people, unfortunately lots of kids without direction who think it's cool to vandalize.

The lake is on the reservation. I no longer fish Fence lake due to all of the horror stories I have heard about damage to trailers and trucks. I would also stay away from any bars on the reservation.

good weed edge out there, some sand breaks and rock too... like any northern wi lake i'd start on the weed edge, half a cast off tossing d 10s, topwaters, and some builldawgs and see what the fish tell you

I have a cabin on the Lac Du Flambeau chain my entire life... White sand is a pretty good lake, get a map and break it down.. In a week you'll get it...

Agreed with Jon. Avoid the boat landing as often as you can. Go early mornings and be out by middle or late afternoon at the latest. Dock it at buddy's house, even better. I fish it often for SMB's and last time I was over there in May the boat landing wreaked of beer and booze and trees were decorated with beer cans (a beer christmas tree). Launched 6am and out by 4pm.

It's an awesome smallie lake if you get bored. One of my favorites year round. It's a very beautiful lake but unfortunately the landing area is owned by slobs and delinquents.

It's got ciscoes and midlake rock/sand bars can be quite good.

The boat landing on White Sand Lk. is tribal, it`s very basic, with very little parking. Many guides are on this lake for 2-4 hours, if it`s off they`re GONE, quick. Now if somebody parks like a" jerk" or so no turn around is possible then YES your GONNA GET A MESSAGE.IT DOESN`T MATTER WHO OR WHAT STATE YOUR FROM. Your going to find this, at small, tight launches in the NORTHWOODS. That said, this is an excellent lake, you have to know how to fish vodka clear water. GOOD LUCK!!!
