| Awesome Dude !
Saw the pics, especially the 63" Drum. Always wanted to water ski along the beach and go from water to snow to water. Couldn't find the video, oh well. |

| That was one hot spot for sure...and crowded too! We usually surfed the Boiler at Pea Island, and Coquina Beach. There is a nice bar behind Cabana East that gets some good curls also. Sold me boards in '76...wish I'd kept the 8' Hansen, but I doubt I could hang w/ the youngsters! Haven't been that far south since they moved the Lighthouse except once; took the wife to Ocracoke to let her see where I spent much of me youth. Daggone place is REALLY growing, as is all of the OBX...do you remember the Mexicana at MP6 on beach road? Everyday they served Shark Tacos and mayhem! They used to have a Surf Team, but the Health Dept. shut them down a few years ago. The closest thing to Atlantis/Foozball Palace you'll ever see! Little Egypt from Va Beach used to play there in the summer. One of the best spots ever was Newbies On The Beach, where they showed surf movies and on occasion, Corky Carroll and the Surfettes would play there. Timmy Ford later opened a sub shop called Newbies, but he later closed it...the memories! [:sun:] |
