If you could spend a day in this area fishing on a quality muskie lake which one would it be? I go to this area and hang with some friends on Big McKenzie which has fish but very few it seems. Tired of coming up empty and would like to tyr something else but don't know where else to go.

Thanks -

Try the river, above the dam. Father-in-law has caught lots there over the years.

Namakogen river, west of highway but above the dam. In Trego. We have land there, never get to fish it because it seems there is always work to do. Could not help on spots or baits, I do know the landing is on the south side of river, just not sure where.

That landing is hard to find. I was checking out new areas a few weeks ago and went there to see the access. The one marked in the Sportsman's map book is from decades ago. the current launch is off Cty E, Pair-O-Lakes RD. Water had a light stain to it. Looks interesting, but I haven't fished it.
