Guys,

Looking at upsizing from a 618 to a 619 or 620, price looks like it will be limiting to something in the 03-08 year range. Any watch outs with either of these models during these years? Any of these hulls perform better than others?

Go for a 2007 or newer 619

2008 or newer 620

Both hulls were redesigned.

How about older 2004/05 models? 619 or 620 differences in ride or performance?

I have 2005 Ranger 619. I can't say anything bad about the boat. Nice and dry. I have had it on some big waves without any issues. I personally don't have a need for anything bigger. With a 200 H.P. opti fully loaded I can go about 52 mph. I would recomend this boat to a friend. Make sure you do your research on motors. My Opti has been a star performer, (knock on wood) but I know some motors in the 2004-2006 time frame had some issues.

I fished many hours out of a 05, 619 with a 200 v-max. Boat was rock solid and on a good day would hit mid 50's for speed.
The older 620's were solid as well. 2006 ranger redesigned the 620 and some people did not like it but some did. Then in 2008 they did it again and it seems pretty popular the newer hull.
Either model you choose the newer ones are a little bigger.

I would recommend the 620 mainly because there will be more of a used selection available versus the 619, once you determine your price range it would be a plus to be able to select the type of motor (s), electronics, windshield etc.

It's also more of a step up from your previous boat even though there is nothing wrong with a 619.
