I'm looking for a new jerkbait rod and came across tackle industries and the rods look great and are priced great. I'm going to be going with the 7'6" and want opinions on whether I should go MH (rated up to 6 oz.) or XH (rated up to 12 oz.)? I throw a lot of suicks, hellhounds, phantoms, and also will use it for my weagle. Not sure if any of these go 6 oz. but MH doesn't seem right for a jerkbait rod. Thanks for your help.

I also would go with the heavier rod. I have a St. Croix XH jerkbait rod and it is not at all too heavy. I can throw very light baits all the way up to a homewrecker at times. I do have to lob the homewrecker though. I really think the heavier rod shines when ripping through weeds.

Get the XH,I LOVE the one I have! Works good for throwing everything from smaller bucktails to Mag Dawgs.

I think you will be happy with an XH...

With that said, I just got this email and picture from a customer in NJ. As you can see, even the MH will do well for you

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Just received my new Tackle Industries 9' MH rod and paired it up with a Daiwa Luna 300. I live in NJ and do a lot of saltwater fishing. I rarely order a rod online without being able to pick it up, feel it, especially without putting the reel on it and checking the balance, ect. Never heard of your company here in NJ. But after running across glowing reviews online I had to give it a chance. My striped bass fishing buddies thought I was nuts when I told them my new muskie rod will be here soon. Boy did they change their tune when the saw my new Tackle Industries rod in acton. Yesterday we boated 33 striped bass. We were chunkin fresh bunker in Raritan Bay. Fishing with 6-8oz weighs and fish finder rigs. The picture below was my big fish of the day. A beautiful 35lb cow.

I can't say enough about the quality, sensitivity, and power of your rods. All for a very fair price. I spend many hours on the boat and surf fishing the beach and jetties along the NJ shoreline. I can promise you many people will take notice of my Tackle Industries rod.

Go with the XH. You'll get better action out of your lures. I use a St. Croix 7'2" XH for my gliders & jerk baits.

XH. I got a deal on a 7'6" MH on EBay, but wish I had gotten the deal on a XH. The MH is still great and works 6-8 inch jerkbaits and wtd's great , but is a bit hard to work a 10" weagle.
