Will I loose any action by putting a split ring on a hawg wobbler to attach the leader? I spent a few minutes trying to put a leader on it but couldn't get it to work so I eventually gave up.

All my hog wobblers have a heavy duty split ring!!!  They are a pain to attach without one.

Try using a wire leader with a split ring to the Wobbler and no swivel on the leader. I like the action best this way. I try to use this method on all top water.
