Posts: 369 | From looking at the other baits that were custom made I think they use waters slide paper. I have used it, not for Muskie baits because I can't make one, I don't have that skill. Waters slide works by printing ink of a specific design onto the paper then spraying it with a clear coat then cutting out the pattern. I don't know if this is what they use but I have very little information on making baits, good luck and I hope this helps. -Zachary

Posts: 5 | when I do photo finish, I use clear vinyl that is used for car, window stickers etc. You can have it printed in any advertising print shop (I work in one of those, so I can have stickers for free :D Attachments ---------------- pikey_low.jpg (42KB - 254 downloads)

Posts: 248 Location: Xenia, Ohio | Jonth, I print on tissue paper the kind you buy at Wal-Mart, 50 big sheets for $5.00 works really good , I take a 8.5X11 and or depending how big 11x17 copy paper then use a glue stick to just glue around the edges (only) of the copy paper and then carefully lay my tissue paper on top and smooth it out as I go try and keep the wrinkle out of the tiise paper, then I take a pair of scissors and cut the excess tissue paper off around the edge of the copy paper, so it goes thru the copy machine with no issues. Then load the tissue covered copy paper into the printer and copy your image that you want. You can find them on Google images (bait fish) or anything you want just save your image in your favorite file adjust the size to whatever you want , I do the left and right image on the same paper saves a little time. Then print your image. Then cut the fish image out to match your bait profile , then paint the background color of your bait about the same as the image or just paint it white, use contact spray adhesive you can but it at Wal-Mart and spray your bait one side at a time and carefully attach the tissue paper image to the bait go slow at this point ,do both sides carefully rub out all the wrinkles they will all rub out nice the tissue paper conforms to bait surface really nice, then I give it a clear coat and then airbrush the top and bottom to your liking and the add some details of your own if you like. and give it second clear coat. hope this helps. Posts: 304 Location: PA | I use the inkjet water slide decal paper, i get off of ebay. They make it for lazerjet printer also. Do just as macone has explained, it will work almost the same as the tissue paper. Once you let it dry for a while put a coat of epoxy on it, sometimes I do two coats. Then paint your top and bottom seems. Then I do two more epoxy coatings and your ready to fish.
