| I have some on my 1700 g series and they are just drilled through the fiberglass. |

Location: Green Bay, WI | I've seen folks use 3M 5100 adhesive as well. They will drill into the glass with stainless screws through the holes in the base plates on the rails, but everyone I've talked who has used the 3M product before has told me that the screws are only needed while the adhesive dries. Once it's on there, it's ON THERE. In other words, don't make a mistake in where you put the rails and then try to remove them again.
Apparently it's very good stuff, lol...

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | That won't work if this is a G series boat. The rails are placed inside the boat by drilling through and using a chrome cap nut on the outside of the hull. Drill using a new drill bit half the size of the hole you need, then follow up with the correct size drill. Ease it through the gel coat to reduce the chance of crazing around the hole. Seal it with silicone sealant on the threads when installing. |

| Im not sure if it is a G series, it doesnt have gunnels where the rail can sit on top, it will need to be on a angle inside the boat. Is this the G series? |

| Yes, that is the G model.
Do as Steve suggests, but put some masking tape down on the gel coat where you are going to drill. Let the drill bit do the work, don't put too much pressure on it. When all the holes are drilled, chamfer the edges to prevent cracks spreading out from the hole. |
