I have 958c hd di does anyone know if the universal sonar will work as a basic depth finder? I understand it will not do DI. I want to use a ts3 and us-8 to switch between di ducer and minn kota universal. I asked humminbird but the person I spoke to sound extremely baffled. Thanks

It will not. I have tried it. When you turn on the depthfinder it will read weird depth ranges. And if you have anything different than a DI on the console you can't share the transducer with it on the transom. The DI runs on a different freq. comared to the SI and regular sonars.
