| I'm looking at storing my boat in a slip on a dock with no power. I'm wondering if any of you deal with this situation, and how you go about getting your deep cycle batteries charged. I looked into solar panels, but it seems like you need to spend a pile of money for a setup that would do anything to charge deep cycles.
I also looked into some cheap generators, but I'm not sure if that's the best/safest route either.
I have 2 deep cycles on the boat, and I'm really not looking forward to lugging them a half mile back and forth to charge them.
Any advice would be appreciated. |

If you can afford it, a honda EU1000 or EU2000 would be enough to run an on-board charger. They are not very heavy at all, and depending on the size of your boat, you might be able to store it right on the boat somewhere out of sight and locked.

| I have a solor charging system on my ice shack which previously ran a repeater radio for a GPS system which was powered by a 27series deep cycle. It is now charging a 24 series on the ice shack, both cases never an issue. Think it was under $200 buck.....well worth it in my opinan for your application. |

I've been using this http://www.stealth1charging.com/Data.html on board charger for years... obviously depends on how much casting/trolling/running you do.
