Posts: 30 | Guys, Looking to get a new 9' rod...probably from TI. It is mainly going to be used for 10's, Mags, and Pounders. Might also throw some 8's and medium sized cranks with it. Would you go with XH or XXH? I would like to get a one piece, but for travel/storage reasons, I think I'm going to have to get a two piece or telescopic. What are your opinions on the two piece vs. the telescopic? James, please chime in and give me your opinion. Thanks for the help!

Posts: 906 Location: Canada | I'm not sure how well an XH will like throwing pounders but would be better suited for double tens/mags and I do own the telescopic XXH split grip that definitely will throw pounders/mags but may be too heavy for throwing double tens. The nice thing here is the XXH rod is not going to break throwing the double tens where if you were to try and throw the pounder on too light of a rod like the XH the possibility to break is definitely there. I'm not saying the XH won't be able to lob pounders but if you plan to throw more pounders with the rod than you plan to throw double tens than maybe you should consider the XXH?

| The xxh will throw 10's/13's just fine. I have a Tranx on mine for big rubber and blades. 9ft telescopic | |||

Posts: 190 Location: Savage, MN | XXH works good for 10's. I use a 9' TI XXH with a Saltist 35bg to burn blades and have no problems. 8's are a little tougher to throw with the XXH but still manageable with some time.
