It'll be a super close call whether I get the new boat in time to be ready by then...but if I have the boat (or can find a FIB to fish with) I'm coming. I never miss an Ironman that I can get to. Always a fun time with those guys!

Just FYI, the chain is currently under a "no wake" restriction with the high water conditions.

It's usually just the very North couple of lakes in the chain for this event and should be pretty easy to fish (and judge) with no wake. In fact, I probably caught the most fish I've caught there right next to the new ease-out location. And my new motor is not broken in yet anyway!

Just an FYI Marty.

When I frequented that area the local authorities took no wake restrictions seriously and do not hesitate writing tickets.

For those interested, you can check the status of the waterway here:

As of know the tournament is still on. The event is held on the 3 north lakes. We will be keeping an eye on the lake and will post anything different.

Thanks

Hey Dan,

What I was trying to say is, "No wake is still better than no event." Clearly, a judge boat might take a bit more time reaching you, but the tournament folks could further restrict the space allowed and there would still be plenty of good spots relatively close to the ease out...even if it were electric motor only, I'd still fish it. To me, the tournament directors are all like Kevin Costner...if they build it, I WILL COME...Jeepers, I can hardly stand not musky fishing right about now!!!!

I thought Tom Rozek ran the Iron Man. Is he still helping out with this tournament. He helped me alot with getting me into muskie fishing.

I hear you. In fact, "no wake" on the chain can be a complete blessing as it will likely keep any other traffic off the lakes. Good luck out there !

Do to the amount of rain, the waterway commission has closed the chain. So the tournament for April 20 is "CANCELED"
