Hey everyone! I am debating on fishing in the CCMI Iowa Hawg Hunt this year on Pleasant Creek Lake and was wondering a few things...
1.) Have any of you fished this CCMI event before?
link to the CCMI Event - http://www.capitalcitymuskiesinc.org/pages/meetings-amp-events-upda...

2.) Has anyone fished Pleasant Creek Lake and what are your feelings towards it... Water depth, color, fish #'s, fish size, locations (if willing ;)) and anything else you would be willing to share...

I really just want to get out before the WI opener and this weekend (4/13) looks possible for me and a friend.

Any help would be appreciated... PM Me if you dont want to share on here.

Thanks In Advance!!!

Simple lake to fish 400 acres, and its a no-wake lake. I've caught 100's out of there, the best structure moves. Come on down. Last year they were spawning 4/13...not this year, people still ice fishing. Fish will still be pre-spawn and eating any presentation you try

The lake should be open by this time next week. I wish I had the same success as Justin.

Pepper, I hope you are right but with a forecast of below freezing temps at night every day for the next week, including a low of 15 next Tuesday, that may be wishful thinking.

Its been awful cold in WI. If this ice doesnt leave soon it wont be worth fishing that early... water temps could be really cold or still frozen at this rate...

Ok. I missed by a week. It will be open by this time next week cause I'm fishing it Easter weekend. It's about one third open now.

I was out yesterday, the middle was open between the main and north boat ramps, but the north bay, west bay, and area near the dam is still iced up. With highs in the 60s later this week I don't think it will be for long though. We were casting at the limited shore line available with no results then trolled for awhile, had one connection on a cisco kid but didn't get it to the boat.
Will probably be back out later today.

I heard there was 2 muskies under 30 caught. I only saw 1 very small fish.
