| I bought a few lures on Ebay and 1 was a 7.5" Wood Phantom. I tried it out yesterday and it floats... I am new to musky, but thought they all were slow sinking. I could not get it to glide and am wondering if it is actually a phantom. Thanks

| Here ya go. I pulled a screw eye out and it seems to be plastic, but I am unsure. Regardless, Phantoms are supposed to sink and glide. I tuned it a couple times and still all it did was rise upwards on snaps. |

Location: S.W. WI | They used to make some floaters. I seen them at Mills Fleet Farm several yrs. ago and I purchased one and used it for a while.
That is an older paint pattern, so it may well be an unweighted one.

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | There were a small number of floaters made during a very short period in time where Odyssey Lures were making Phantoms. This was probably 10 to 12 years ago, if I remember correctly. I had one myself and it ran nothing like the standard Phantoms.

Location: Maplewood, MN | Call me crazy, but add some solder around the hook shanks possibly making it fairly neutrally buoyant. A phantom that will pause and fall painfully slow! Just a thought. |

| I emailed the guy and he said it was an old model. It was used, but had only 1 scuff on it. I was going to try solder and go from there. |

| Add solder or a few coats of etex to the body and that should weight it down enough |

Location: North St. Paul, MN | I have one and love it! I actually just sent mine to a guy to have it repainted it's been chewed and used up so much. You have to work them really fast, but just like you would a regular sinking phantom. They are great in thick cabbage...If worked fast enough you can get it down two to three feet. If you don't like it, I'll trade you a regular one 6" for it.

| I will try adding weight it and then see how it works. I have a couple 6" and wanted a larger size. Thanks or the offer though. |

Location: North St. Paul, MN | I honestly would suggest leaving it and using it, "as is." It's another "tool" when fish are really active and you want to cover water, but still like the side to side of the phantoms. You can get them to do crazy things and I've never seen fish, from MN to Canada, come unhinged the way they do on the one I have. |

| I will give it a try both ways. I am not proficient with jerkbaits, but can get 6 inch sinking phantoms, even my 8 inch hellhound, to dance easily. I only fish about 10 days a year, so I need baits I can work well. |
