Was going to buy a new power drive 70lb 24v minn kota, but i can get a used 65lb 24v for under half the price. Am i really going to notice the difference in 5lbs of thrust?

no, the biggest difference would be the battery sucking of older models. how old is the used motor?

if you're in the market, you may want to consider getting an I-Pilot. Changed the way I fish and makes your life on the water much easier... If you can find one at a good price, you won't be disappointed.

The newer ones do not suck the life out of your batt. Like the older one Big consideration.

I don't think you would notice 5#s of thrust difference but 5 years of use could have been a lot of hours on it!
