Location: Moses Lake, WA | Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed. This poor lure started out as a fabric cover that provided lots of nice spots but very little pattern. So I shot a new stencil film in rust red that looked just awful once the smoke had cleared. Being on a precipitous downhill roll I decided that maybe some nice gold scale spots would hide the worst of the rust pattern and I proceeded to blast away. Oops, the rust was covered but so were most of the dots. In desperation I put on some tiger stripes and went back to bed. The corollary to all this misadventure is that you save your worst bungles for your most expensive lure blanks. I'd consign it to the fireplace but there's enough lead in this devil to poison everyone in the house.

I sent you a PM but I'm not sure it got through. If you send me your mailing address to [email protected] I'll send you this lure. At least that way somebody gets some use out of it. Since it weighs over 7 ounces you might need a telephone pole to cast it.

Location: Moses Lake, WA | That lure is winging its way to Mountainmuskies in Oklahoma even as we speak. Of course it's going by the Post Office special - stagecoach - so he won't see it for a week. |
