| Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed. This poor lure started out as a fabric cover that provided lots of nice spots but very little pattern. So I shot a new stencil film in rust red that looked just awful once the smoke had cleared. Being on a precipitous downhill roll I decided that maybe some nice gold scale spots would hide the worst of the rust pattern and I proceeded to blast away. Oops, the rust was covered but so were most of the dots. In desperation I put on some tiger stripes and went back to bed. The corollary to all this misadventure is that you save your worst bungles for your most expensive lure blanks.
