These are the results of from my first attempt at bait making. Started with a piece of 1x4 and ended up with these three. Two are coated and one is just painted. What do you think? Remember, these are my first attempt so please be kind..........but honest! Thanks guys!

Nice Lures!! When you try them out in the water see how there action is? You can always move the line tie closer to the lip for more action.

Those are sweet for your first run man! The color patterns are different and unique...keep up the good work.

Very nice! Front screw in second seem not strong but make sure that all screws is strong and tight on lures. Muskies might escape from loose screw(s)!

They look great, way better than my first baits.

I still have my firsts and they are ridiculously bad.  I’m going to take a picture of them soon and start a thread.  Hopefully others will join in and we can get a good laugh.

Man, those are sweet! Did you through-wire that second bait?!?

My only constructive criticism would be to move your line tie closer to the diving lip, but not too far under. With a little trial and error, you can find the sweet spot. When I built my first baits (which were nowhere near as nice as those) I had my line tie too far up on the nose of the bait. All I did was unscrew the line tie and gradually move it under the nose little by little until I found the sweet spot. You end up with a few holes in the bait, but those are easily patched with 5 min epoxy.

I would be proud to have any of those in my tackle box.

You guys sure know how to make a guy feel special! I appreciate all of your comments, I really do! CedarLakeMusky and BowHunter29, I will play around with the front eye a bit. Thanks for the heads up! The second bait is a thru wire construction bait, I am not as happy with that one as I am with the others but still ok. I attached a pic of the thru wire one before assembly.

Very cool work and great job on your clear coat
One small thing You got the scales backward on your second bait, I do the same on some of my baits lots of work, I learned the scale pattern from Mikko SolarFall
Great job
