Posts: 72 | It is still a great fish producer . Most hookups happen on the figure 8 after a straight retrieve . Speed varies on the time of year . Changing the hooks are a must . I like a hook with a long shank , seems to help get those short strikes. I like the white, clear, purple, but the best ones seem to be the ones i dye or color black.

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | I've tried a couple and they looked good but both of them the lip broke off without any real contact. Either I got a bad batch or bad luck.

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | Kick'n Minnows are like using live bait. Once a musky hits it chances are you can't use it again. I use the 8" & 10". I have a few 6" but never use them. One trick you can do to help prevent the bait from tearing at the first joint is to break the hard plastic point inside the soft plastic that's at the bottom of the first joint.

Posts: 72 | If i am just coloring the tail or part the bait i use a marker , if coloring the whole lure any plastic fishing dye will work . I found a bottle of black uncle josh garlic scent dye that works great. Some of these baits catch up to 6 or 7 fish and some get killed after 1 fish . For 7 to 10 bucks they are worth it . At one point in time the kickin minnow was probably responsible for over a thousand muskies caught in Indiana waters . The bite has slowed down on them but this was a once in a lifetime bait in Indiana at one point in time and I'm just glad to have been there to experience it . With that said I never leave the launch without a couple of these lures in my boat .
