| What is the best adhesive you guys are using when replacing your softails on phantoms, squirkos or any of your softtail gliders/jerks?
Having good bonding issues using quick-set epoxy on hard plastic bodies to rubber tails.

Location: Madison, WI | At a clinic I attended, Pro's Soft Bait Glue was highly recommended. The context was holding a grub tail on a jerkbait. I plan on trying it this year to hold plastics on swimjigs.

Location: MN | Same issue here on Phantoms. I've tried regular super glue, gel super glue, Mend it. Only one I haven't tried is Phantom's, but it is cyanoacrylate also, so not sure that would work any better. I've scraped, cleaned, and filed the body of the bait and I've tried cutting off the end of the tail to try to remove some of the excess mold release agent that is typically on the surface. They still don't want to hold very well. What's the secret? |

Location: WI | Has anybody used regular Fletchtite or the platinum? I would think fletching glue should work well since it's made to glue plastic vanes or fleathers to aluminum, wood, and carbon arrows. |

Location: Mn | loctite pro is my favorite the thin stuff works the best and the key is to keep the glue layered as thin as possible on just one surface. I put the glue on the tail. again as thin as possible with coverage. the new loctite has a squeeze sides bottle that helps control the amount. It's what I use on the twisted sucker. |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Use the Phantom glue. It's an industrial strength adhesive (super glue) made in WI. It's about as strong a glue as you can find short of getting something custom made. Most of the other glues mentioned like Loctite and Gorilla Glue are full of preservatives that lessen the bond. When you're not using the glue (this or any superglue) keep it in the fridge. By lowering the temp you'll increase the shelf life a exponentially. |
