| New on my personal list to to give this reel a try next year.
I prefer one with a thumb bar...which model's of the Calcutta's do like and use and why do you prefer it over the Garcia 6500 C3?
Thanks in advance - |

| The CT 400 Calcuttas are very smooth and makes a Garcia feel like you just found it washed up on a beach somewhere. The TE however, belongs in a class by itself, as there is nothing to compare it to. Got to give credit where credit is due, Garcias have probably put more muskies in the boat than all other reels combined. |

| I am in the process of getting my 2nd 400. I was going to get it on the way home tonite but I felt guilty getting it before I picked up my wifes christmas present. I should be over that feeling by tomorrow night.
Smooth casting and retreiving, thumb release clicks in and out positively and just sounds like quality. Drag performance is like melted butter. And you know how when you are firing casts and you are always trying to get a little more distance? Keep doing that with a 6500 and eventually you here that noise that means backlash. The 400 very rarely backlashes and I am no expert caster. I considered a 7000C3 but the biggest advantage the 400 has is it's smoothness.[:)] |
