Just wanted to know if anyone had any updates on any new models coming out this seaon? Has St. Croix announced any new additions to their line-ups like a 9'0 xh or different handle modifications, etc?

Also curious to know if any of the other companies like Migizi, Shimano, TI, Okuma, MI, etc. are adding different models to the market?

thanks

1) We will have all new 7' rods in XH and XXH
2) All of our 7'6" rods will be redesigned with shorter handles and slightly smaller diameter handles. MH, XH and XXH in full grip
3) All new 6' kids musky rods with all the bells and whistles. We are pricing these rods with very little margin in them (for us not retailers). Our goal is to get some quality musky rods in the hands of young kids but not break the bank for moms and dads. Stop by our booth at the upcoming musky shows and check them out. Get a free musky lure for your kids too! All profits from the sale of these rods (always) will be directed to support children's charities (Gillette Children's, Ronald McDonald House, etc).
4) We had Tuscaroroa Tackle make us up 6 really high end rods for this years shows. $275-$350 will be the cost on them. Really cool rods. Some will come with super high end milled aluminum reel seats that cost over $65. These include a heavy metal biker rod, Special Forces military rod, hippy 60s rod, Wisconsin Badgers theme rod, etc. We will also be selling 3 special full camo 9' telescopic TI rods for $200. All profits will be directed to helping out Operation Musky 2013.

In 2013 we will be moving out of our 3600 sq ft warehouse. Looking into a 14,000 sq ft warehouse so we will not be limited by warehouse space anymore. Can't wait for that. Only a $368Million sales gap left to catch Rapala! Here we come!

Have a great (and safe) New Years everyone.
James

here is the press release St Croix kicked out in the fall for 2013...

St. Croix has announced new blank models for 2013 using a new resin system in the carbon fiber scrim.

Recall, St. Croix was the first to announce the new 3-M nano silica (NSi) system in 2011. Now that material has been replaced with even more advanced resins. The new resin is the big news for 2013.

The Fortified Resin System (FRS), which combines a proprietary fortified super resin with new computer operated curing ovens that provides improved temperature and time management through all stages of the curing cycle. FRS prevents micro-buckling by keeping carbon fibers in proper alignment. Blanks built with FRS are 33% stronger than those built with standard resins and curing methods.

The new material will be in the Legend Extreme, Legend Tournament and other blanks in the St. Croix blank line up for 2013. 17 spinning and 12 casting models make up the new Legend Extreme lineup. These new blanks with a hand sprayed blue/green metallic pearl finish will be shipped in January 2013.

If you want something that sparkles, then this blank is the ticket. We'll add the lightest weight materials to the blank including ALPS micro guides in a choice of several colors, custom burl wood seat inserts, split grips with Portuguese burl cork handles and more to make this outstanding performing rod even better.

Will there be pink 6' poles for girls or will they be regular color?

Right now just black rods. I can do pink in small runs. I just call them "samples" but would need to know how many people want before my next 6' kids rod production run. Only issue would be time before you would get yours. Might be up to 6-9 months as I am not sure how well these will sell. Looking forward to seeing how well these do. I have not seen a kids musky/pike rod ever marketed before. I know my first pike rod was just a bass rod. Worked well for me at the time. I was just happy to be out fishing! I think it would be nice to see kids started on an actual musky rod though. LOL my daughter has a Barbie pole with 30# PowerPro line on it and that does well.

I have a few customs that will be at the show with snakeskin, feather and real muskie teeth inlays. If yoiu are wanting something other than what is on my site, let me know as I will build you anything you want/can dream up! Including inlays, pictures, handles, reel seats, lengths, power and more. There only two things that I don't change...the eyes (because I believe they are the best on the market by far) and the blanks (which are proprietary). With the eyes/blanks I believe they are the best on the market and will hold up to anything...the very reason why Migizi fishing rods puts a lifetime warranty on all of our work. I won't put inferior products on the rods that are not up to my standards.
