| Almost everyone I've talked to has had a terrible fall bite this year including me.
With the 25-30 drop in temps coming Thursday night I tend to think it may trigger some good action this weekend. In my head, the cold temps should remind fish that winter is coming and they need to feed.
The last time I was out about 10 days ago for two consecutive days I was able to locate fish(bait) along the primary break in the basin areas and they were tight to the bottom. Did not see a fish and don't even recall any frenzied suckers as if a fish were nearby. With the unusually warm days we've been having, I suspect fish may be found tighter to shorlines or on even on the top edge of flats adjacent to deep water.
Either way, I won't be able to get out until Friday but am hoping the cold weather triggers some activity. Any thoughts? I may even have to give some vertical jigging presentations a try.
With no one reporting anything I assume they are either not catching anything, deer hunting, or put boats away for the year.

| The fish are biting right now. Jerks/rubber and suckers are producing, although many of the fish I've contacted lately have been pretty neutral. Have had action from 25+ fish in the last week between baits and meat....unfortunately, only 7 of them ended up in the net. Afternoon windows have been best right up until dark. |

Location: Wakefield, MI | I missed a nice one on Saturday, my dad caught one yesterday. Action around here has been good lately, would be cool if it picks up this weekend though, I should be able to get out all 4 days. |
