Anyone have any advice on a late December trip to Melton Hill? Never been there before, no idea what it would be like. Thanks

That should be a good time to head down there, the majority of fish would more than likly be in the upper end of the lake from the steam plant down to the solway bridge area.

Send me an email before you come.....I'll let you know if it will be worth the trip. I don't know how long the plant will be on.

If you don't want to haul your boat all the way down here, look me up and I will get you on fish. Imagine casting bucktails and topwaters in January, we do it down here.

How is the fishing in January/February? I may be needing to go fishing by then.

down here in TN, I believe the fish feed almost every day. You just have to know where to look. I am the first and only guide on the lake as it can be tricky at times. If any of you fellas come down and struggle, give me a shout.

Does anyone have any idea what the water temp is here currently? Suppose to be making a trip down tomorrow for a few days and we are debating whether it is worth it or not. Please help.

Thanks

I will let you know tomorrow. It's cooling down with the plant shut off but I haven't went in the last couple days and weather has been cooling somewhat.

Before you go down get hold of Billy. He will have the latest info on the lake.

Conditions of the lake and if the steam plant is running can make a tremendous difference in fishing success during the winter months. Been there, done that!

We are figuring out a few of the winter time patterns down here. I will be in Chicago next Saturday, I hope to run into some of you guys up there.
