Mike from the show Mike and Molly was going muskie fishing with his friends.  Sounded really great at first.  Muskies!!  Cool!!  And then it went downhill and fast.   In Lake Geneva.  From the shore.  With spinning gear and bobbers.  Did I mention that Mike said that they would catch more muskies than they could count.  Like I said… really??

You do realize that it's just Hollywood, and not real life.

Duh.  But I got excited!  They talked about musky fishing for cryin' out loud.

I saw that, too. And they were going to eat them!!!!! And it took them 4 hours from Chicago to get there. I think they stopped at a bar or 3 on the way.

Hey, our club spent a lot of money stocking muskies in Lake Geneva. One would hope that reasonable size limits have been imposed before stuff like this gets out of hand!

Boycott CBS until the network apologizes, and the show's stars do C&R PSAs.

Did you see the episode earlier this year when they sunk a bass tracker on lake geneva with 5 guys in it? Molly is local from naperville I believe. Seen mike on an old episode of king and queens looking a good100lbs lighter.

Sorry Todd I prefer dramas. The only comedy I might check out on occasion is the Cubs.

They must have been drunk if they thought they would catch 'em like that!  Or at least the writers were!!

LOL  I know, it was a classic.  They can never seem to make it fishin' can they?

lol  I don't think there is any chance of that.  They looked like little girls fishin' for panfish out there.

One thing I love from tv commercials, shows, and movies is when they have somebody fishing with a spinning reel upside down. Always gets a chuckle. Especially, when their character is supposed to be some big "outdoors-type". I know there are a few people out there that actually fish that way, but it is certainly not the norm.

Oh I'll have to watch for that now!  So, you can really fish with it upside-down?  Isn't that mildly uncomfortable?

Not if you enjoy reeling backwards!

And what was that episode of CSI tonight - the scene with what's-her-name fishing with her father?? I have yet to see an ugly stick spinning combo whre the clicker engages while you are casting.

I get that it's TV, but isn't there a person on the set anywhere who has ever been fishing in their lives?

Apparently not.  But how could that be?!  Even people that don't like to fish have fished before.  You have to remember something!  And even if you don't, why the heck doesn't someone check?
