| I was looking at getting a custom predator rod for small bucktails and some topwaters and was wondering if i should get the heavy power or medium heavy power predator rod? |

Location: Pewaukee, WI | I would look into the heavy Predator blank and take nothing off the tip. The medium heavy is a great rod but it has a soft tip. If you go with the medium heavy blank, you might want a couple if inches off the tip. Both are awesome rods! |

| I have a 9' 8" MH predator with a curado 300 on it that I use for small stuff. Just an absolute treat of a rod to toss baits with. It's definitley just for lighter baits but I like it for smaller cranks like 7-8in big games, slammers etc. small tails, and topwaters.
A heavy is a bit more versatile but the MH is a nearly feather light with syncork. The MH and H are far more similar than the XH and the H. |

| I would just call the store and ask to talk to Lonnie. The MH is a solid rod, but of all the blanks the MH has the most competitive counterparts amongst other rod makers. Lonnie will be able to guide you to which rod is the right one for your needs. Also, nothing beats going into the store and talking with him face to face. I highly recommend doing this. You will be able to handle the blanks and get a feel for them, which will provide more confidence that you are getting the right thing for the job. |

Location: Eagan, MN | I have a mh predator which to me is perfect for small twitch baits and bucktails... stuff like small big games, harassers, mepps. Anything small with fairly thin hooks. I use a different rod for grinders because I feel I need a little more stiffness to make the thicker hooks penetrate. You might look at taking a few inches off the tip. See what lonnie says. |
