I've been boat shopping for awhile and although I initially was looking at a larger boat, I have decided to go small for now. It'll be about 5 more years till my little boy starts school and I'll have alot of fishing time so for right now I'm thinking get something cheap, then later down the road get a large boat. It's going to be used mostly on southern lakes/reserviors so no 4fters and ocean conditions. I'm looking at the standard Esox 15ft. Would be going with a 30hp Mercury tiller. Would it be worth it on this model to get power trim? Also for anyone with an Esox, what are your thoughts on this boat, room, storage, performance, stability? I can't find much on them, especially the smaller one I emailed Tuffy for more info/pics.

Any idea if they might be wide enough to put dual pedestal mounts on the front so two could fish side by side for crappie and such? It'll be primarily a muskie/crappie getter.

You actually emailed me.

This is the 'original' hull Tuffy started with in 1976.

The Esox has a rod locker and livewell, and some open storage for vests, etc. under the front deck. The boat takes a portable gas tank. A 30 HP motor will run that boat like a rocket. Yes, I'd get power trim. The deck is fine for one angler, but two side by side probably not, it's 60" wide. Three can comfortably fish out of that ride. The Esox is REALLY stable at rest for a 15' class boat.

The diagram shows the Layout.
ESOX Specfications
Esox
Tri Hull
14' 10" length
60" Beam
35 HP Max HP
20" Transom Height
17" Inside depth

As the diagram indicates, no built in tank. A 6 gallon fits in the back, the ones I had always had the rear deck option to cover the battery and tank.

440 LBS Hull weight, dry
7' 0" Rod Locker
48" Livewell

Fishing Features
Tempress Fold-Down Seats
750 GPH Livewell Aerator Pump
Full Length Cockpit Storage Shelf
Bow Panel w/ Trolling Motor Plug
Large Side Tank Rod Locker

Convenience Features

Four (4) Recessed Stainless Steel Tie-Down Cleats

Safety Features
All Composite Tuff Core Construction
Upright & Level Flotation
One (1) 750 GPH Bilge Pump
Stainless Steel Bow & Stern Eyes
Anti-Skid Transom Well

The color options are as you see them in the image, a top color panel and a bottom color panel, those can be gel or polyflake, and a gel running bottom which is standard on all Tuffy models.

Tuffy actually tried to discontinue this boat a couple years back, and the demand was too strong so it's still offered. I really liked mine.
