Location: Green Bay, Titletown, WI | This might be beating a dead horse. I can't get the forum search to work, and couldn't find any info on the topic. I was just wondering how the performance is with the x-170 and 50 horse 4 stroke mercury. Seems like it would need to be propped just right to get a decent hole shot out of it? What's roughly the top speed? Sworral, this is the rig your running right? I found what I feel is a good deal on a brand new 2012. No electronics, or trolling motor on it. Is a 55lb TM adequate? Or should I just get the 70lb right off the bat? |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The boat runs mid 30's, and is a rocket out of the hole. I think a 12 pitch stainless is what you will need. 55# trolling motor is ALL you will need, I'm running exactly that and have never used it, even in current, over half speed unless I want to move fast to another location. The boat doesn't blow around and controls like a dream. If you put a 70# on her, you will have the xtra umphh if you need it, but I haven't yet and have been running this hull since 2003. |
