Finaly got an up grade from my 2006 Globalmap 3600C-igps, Went with the HDS-7 Gen2..One of the reason I went that route is that I was told that they will use the older lakemaster promaps SD cards, as I have 4 of them now and wanted to use them. Well I was out on Mille Lacs this last weekend and put my 2010 Mn. card in and all of the contour lines and depth feature's were on the screen, but none of the hazard marker pins would show up. On the old unit with the same chip they would show all of the pins. So I put in a 2006 card in and the HDS showed all of the pins as they should be..But I want to run the"10 chip as it shows way more detail.Ive looked in the manual and made sure everything is checked to show,,I've run out of ideas...Any help out there??

You could put the 2006 card in and drop icons on the pins, then run your 10. Obviously not the kind of help you're looking for but it'll get the job done. Good luck!

Heres the most likely solution. Go to menu-chart options-settings-chart details and then select all. Heres also some helpful info.

I have version 3 and 4 Lake of the Woods/Rainey cards and had to upgrade a unit this year so I was running an LCX and an HDS and found the same thing that you did. Both cards showed rock hazards, pins and some reef/island names when they were in the LCX. When they were put in the HDS that stuff was gone. I assumed that something in the map data menu on the HDS was turned off. I went to Thorne Brothers and they were aware of this issue said was in the software. I asked if the new Lowrance chips (Lakemaster info) would show all of the information and they said no. To prove their point we put a new Lowrance chip in an HDS in the store display and hazards and pins were not shown. Lowrance needs to provide an update that will make this stuff available to those of us that want/need it. Very frustrating because the info is on the chip but we can't get to it. I used the contact page through the Lowrance website to let them know that I would like to be able to access all of the info on the chips. To anyone effected or concerned about this please let Lowrance know about it, politely of course, and I'm sure they will address this in a future update.

Please read my post above? The info is there and no update is needed. The HDS has map options that the LCX never had. Its all in the instruction manual and made a bit easier to understand in the link I posted above.

We are talking about 2 different things. There is not a solution for Lakemaster chips. The software will not communicate the info we are talking about. I am well aware of the HDS menu. Even with the unit set up to display all, there is more info on the chip that shows up on older units and does not show on HDS units. Lowrance says that because Johnson Outdoors purchased Lakemaster there is a conflict of interest and they do not plan to address this issue.

If thats the case I dont believe that Lowrance can address this or provide updates. Johnson outdoors owns the rights to Lakemaster, humminbird and minn kota. They alone have decided not to provide support for their products to Lowrance. My older lakemasters work fine in my HDS 2's. I will be buying navionics from now on. I am sure that Navionics will be surpassing lakemaster in chip data shortly. One has only to consider that Lowrance outsells Johnson outdoors by a large margin and will not leave its owners in the dark. If the case is as you state then I would suggest moving to navionics maps and enjoy the features on the HDS2. I know I do.

4amuskie..I did try that to no avail...Looks like I was misinformed (By Cabelas Web-site) about the compatibility of the Lakemaster pro maps and the HDS2 units. I will send a note to Lowrance for what's that's worth. Looks like when I'm fishing a spot I will use the '10 chip, Then put the '06 in when it's time to travel..Im sure at some point I will go with Navionics but right now I have $400 worth of chips I would like to use.

Not trying to make anyone mad here but I noticed as well that the buoys are gone on the new graphs/chips. However you have several thousand waypoints to use and it is the same difference if you drop a waypoint on those spots if it makes you feel better. If you understand what you are running for structure those buoys shouldnt matter at all anyway bc your boat shouldnt be on top of those spots...your baits should. I just do not see why you need to have the buoys marked on the chip. I do think that the waypoints with the old chip in is a great idea!! You do have some 50 icons to choose from!

Thanks, I doubt anyone would get mad when you're Just trying to help... it's not like that wasn't good advice. BTW, I mainly put that post up just in case he was heading out of town right away or something... 10 minutes - good to go.

Actually, my preference is the "exit icons" in tight areas/between buoys in case it's dark and for some extra peace of mind. It's a simple deal then to just connect the dots after zooming the screen in. That method also allows me to be more watchful for other boats etc. while just glancing at the electronics instead of looking to find the next buoy.

Chris Riebe turned me on to the "look ahead" option on the GPS earlier this year and incorporating that deal with connecting the exit icons is almost fool prove now.

Say also,, I was also wondering if anyone knows how to "drop" an Icon on the new unit without leaving a number, Like putting turkey tracks or tree Icons to mark cabbage...But I hate the #s on the screen..The old unit did it with- enter/choose icon/enter..and no # left on the sceen. The HDS2 leaves a number with an icon.
