Posts: 532 Location: Ogden, UTAH 10 minutes from pineview reservoir | Just curious for those of you who chase tigers, do you throw big rubber and if so how do you feel they work and which rubber baits seem to produce? Out here in utah we have big tigers, however they seem to stray away from big blades double 8's and 10's as well as big rubber. Not sure if its just our lake or if its a tiger thing just curious what you tiger chasers have for input on this question thanks for any input

Posts: 1504 Location: Oregon | Tigers react same here in Washington, they seem to prefer smaller stuff, 5-8 inch swimbaits, jerkbaits, and bucktails. I have had a few lazy follows on rubber baits but that's it. Some huge tigers here too........I think most in the lakes I fish are eating trout and perch. Jed

Posts: 142 | Gliders, bucktails, I've had a few chase dcg. I don't throw to much big rubber, when I have, I didn't move anything. Not too many pures in my local lakes, mostly stocked tigers. They stock approximately 5 per acre. It's been pretty lousy overall.

Posts: 1504 Location: Oregon | No idea who this guy is but this one was caught in Washington state. This lake has produced some huge fish! I fish mostly swimbaits and jerkbaits because I enjoy fishing them but I know others that do well on blades on some lakes. Attachments ---------------- hugetiger.jpg (104KB - 100 downloads)

Posts: 86 Location: colorado | Here in colorado. I have had no follows on big blades 10s, 13s or big rubber. Funny thing though i was trolling a norther pike lake and my smallest pike came from a pounder.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | RiverMan, That is HUGE!! Wow. Did you get a mount done of her? As for Tigers and lures, I have a lot of customers that do well on rubber swimbaits for them but more that do better with tubes and/or bucktails (from Utah to NY). Biggest is a guy in NY who got a real nice tiger on a double 13 and he has also done well with my big 14" Tubby Tubes. He also really like the Red October tubes for tigers from what he tells me and does well with those too.
