Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | I did too, pretty awesome! One of the features I know I'm gonna like is the ability to hook up an underwater camera via the video in feature. No more having to look at another screen or anything, all on one unit now. http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/videos/10.01.2012/5512/Underwater.C...

Posts: 633 Location: Madison, WI | Smart phones get covered in greasy prints all the time? Or if your hands are wet (like when fishing) they are #*^@ near impossible to unlock or work right? So bobbie does have a point.

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Chris Meyer said this about the fingerprints on the Lowrance Facebook page. "Finger prints surprisingly aren't very noticeable... The Simrad NSS screens are very similar and I've been running those for a few years.... They work great when they are wet, sunlight view ability is awesome, and the user interface is so easy my dad had it figured out in 5 to 10 minutes, and hes not a techy kind of guy." He had this to say about the video he shot with the video in. "PS on the video I took the screen had a fair amount of finger prints on it... as you can see you didn't see many...." http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/videos/10.01.2012/5512/Underwater.C...

Posts: 32959 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Not an issue with this technology as far as wet fingers go. The only time you will see any fingerprints is when the unit is off, and the units don't feature 'glossy' screens. The technology has been available for the salties already, and is very well accepted. Wait for the videos (we will be shooting an entire series) before jumping to conclusions.

Posts: 315 | I played with all of the units today first hand and they are AWESOME!!! Yes wet hands work just fine on the screens and yes the screen gets marks from your fingers but when it is running you can not see any of it!! MUST HAVE!

| Will those $50-$70 insulated "data tip" gloves work for casting muskie baits when it's 35 degrees outside and snowy/rainy/windy? (Like this coming weekend.) http://www.cabelas.com/mens-cold-weather-gloves-cabelas-data-tip-dr... | |||

Posts: 437 | When I first saw these the sunlight viewability was my main concern. I cant see the dang screen on my phone when its bright, was thinking this would be the same. Based on the comments though it appears it may not be. Pretty impressed with this, man, sure making the gen1's obsolete and the gen2's were barely out a year and have been shoved down the peg a few notches. I havent read or seen yet, but do they have pinch zoom, etc?

Seems like a good idea but I have 2nd thoughts Agreed, but this is the direction EVERYTHING is going. get used to carring a rag and bottle of water vinegar. Hate the way that sh*t smells... I do have one serious question. Can you see the screen with polarized glasses on? Edited by dtaijo174 10/2/2012 2:04 PM

Location: 31 | For sure a couple of my boat partners think I already have touchscreen electronics ;-). Something that might work better for you (definitely less stinky) is applying Rain-X. The screens are not only easier to read when wet, they also clean up better/faster with just a towel and a few drops of lake water. Edited by Jerry Newman 10/4/2012 9:38 AM

Posts: 128 | One of the things I saw mentioned was a lower priced 7" unit with structure scan capability. "There will be also be a new Elite- 7 inch model w/Structure Scan capability at a very good price point." But then the release of info only included the touch screen units.
