Random quote: Muskies are nasty. They stink. They taste bad. They are hard to catch and will disappoint even the most devoted angler. The lures required cost more than some women's jewelry. The rods and reels require a remortgage of the house. The boat is always worth more than the tow vehicle. Sure beats the hell out of golf.

I decided to try a few different colors to keep the pike on there toes this week. I have done two foils in the past trying different methods to achieve a scale pattern. This time i used a dull pen and a staight edge ruler. I think it turned out good enough to catch fish but still needs some work. The trout and crappie are new patterns for me. After a recent trip down to the fish ladder i saw a lot of smaller salmon and steelies running. I have a good feeling that the bigger fish are keying in on the smaller cohos and steelies so i thought i would try to "match the hatch".

All are beautiful. The Steelie is killer. I would throw that in any waters.
