| What are general fall techniques. Going into the fall season, what do you change? This goes for any body of water. |

| right now i'm starting shallow on clean sand and rock piles and inside weededges with topwaters and bucktails, usually a great shallow bite early fall. then will move back out to the deep edges and beyond after turnover and start throwing more jerkbaits and rubber, also will be sucker time by then!!!!!! |

| I like to change my line in the fall - old line picks up a lot more water than new line. The spray is nice when it's 80. It's tolerable when it's 60. But when it gets down to 40, I'd prefer to stay as dry as possible. |

| Well as the fish move out of the dying weedbeds and more then likely the lake has some breaklines, thats what you gotta look for,Slow rolling big spinner baits and big jigs i've found to be the best once its gotten deeper into the fall, keep it a tad bigger,and slower then usual is the best advice i can throw out there? Main baits you should keep key are:Bulldawgs,Musky Mahem Stick'em jigs,Jakes,suicks,grandmas etc. you get the point. Big and slow thats key. |

| speaking only generally, the traditional thinking is to leave the bucktails in your tackle box and go with crankbaits and jerkbaits, certainly as the water becomes cooler. Another traditional spot of wisdom is to ramp up a bit in the size of your lures. |

| IMHO, I would always keep some talis on board. I've caught my share of fish in late October, almost November, on Eagle Lake. In fact a couple days they were smashing/charging Spanky dbl 10s. This was with water temps in the low 50 & upper 40 degree range, reeling at a fast clip.
Some guys will tell you that they stop throwing them, when they hear them land on top of the ice.
I guess you never know. Obiviously your big gliders/jerks/twitchers/rippers/big plastic, will always be a good fall choice. Just need to keep an open mind.
