| So this "cold snap" move into N IA and S MN last night in the middle of the night. If you were to base fishing off of weather, is it worth going tonight? Tomorrow morn? etc?? |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I'll be on the water tomorrow morning for a few hours regardless of weather conditions, it's just good to be out. Even though I have never had great success fishing the day after a cold front moves in I always try to wait it out for two days or so. But tomorrow is my only open day, so thus I will be fishing... Now yesterday on the other hand would have been a good one... |

Location: Kingston, Ontario | Cold fronts will move the fish deeper. Concentrate on the deepest sections of your hot spots. Will be tougher fishing but no reason can't catch them. |

Location: MN | The first evening post frontal, especially if it calms down, can produce good top water action. I'm up north and fished during the front with clouds and light rain and could not find them, and was out this morning early while still cloudy and now windy and still can't, or can't get them interested. But I wouldn't doubt I'll get one or two to go tonight. |

I will be using my cold front tactic... BIG RUBBER! Some other things are jerk baits that I like to use. As I said before its not that I have never had success during a cold front (or right after) its just very seldom. |

Location: Chisholm, MN | 47 degree air temps at 6 am and 57 today in northern mn and I caught a nice one and lost two others. All fish were shallow and were chasing bucktails fiercely. I'd say go

| All relative to time of year and also the climate during the season. With the seemingly relentless extreme heat we've had here for nearly 3 months, this cool down will get the fish crankin shallow quite soon, in these parts. being accompanied by several squals and lots of clouds, this type of front is just what the dr. ordered here. Wish I wasn't working the next several days..  |

| Cold fronts in late summer/early fall push fish extremely shallow and action can be some of the best of the year, especially for big fish. The beginning of the cold front is usually the best with action slowly tapering off as conditions stabilize. I'd think the best fishing in this cold front is behind us, but that could depend on which lake or river you are fishing. |

Location: Kingston, Ontario | The evening bite is good because after cold front the skys are hight and light is high. It's likely the only active period of the fish in this scenario is evening because the light is lower and that triggers them to move into the shallower areas when it is easier to contact them. You should fish the topwater in the shallows to check that area but also be prepared to go fish deep and spend more time focusing on those areas if you don't contact anything shallow. |
