Location: Minneapolis | Wondering if anyone will be at Point this fall and is looking for a partner to hit the WI river. I'll have my muskie gear at school just no boat. Didn't have any luck last year fishing from shore.

Posts: 210 | No luck from shore? Do you like current breaks? Bridge pilings? West River Drive? Al Tech Park spillway? Hmmmm.... Calling Bolinski! Aroz? Darkstarr? Anyone? Lack of success shows who the committed are!

Location: Minneapolis | Can't say I didn't put in the hours on shore. Someone on the board gave me a few spots to try last fall and I found some of my own as well just no fish...yet. Would be cool to connect with other muskie guys at school too.

I live in Point and there is some group through UWSP I came across who is a musky fishing club. Go to Musky Link and look up people in Stevens Point in the search.

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Drop me a PM. If you aren't catching fish you aren't in the right spots or fishing them with the wrong baits. Lots of fish to be had and once you figure them out they are easy. I've got a couple spots/tactics I can pass along to you. Be careful who you fish with and where you go with them, next thing you know the whole CNR is fishing there.

Maybe they were in the class I was supposed to be in??

Check out WILMA a musky club started by a friend. There also used to be 12 apostle's musky club that met at blue top every first Monday of the month.

Posts: 210 | The Spillway is public knowledge. I give that freely. Fish are there, and can be caught in numbers. But, there are many other mini locations that you have to stand in the precise location to make the proper presentation to get the bite. Those I figger ya gotta find on your own. The thing is, almost all of these spots are visible from legal public access, so one could learn some things just by watching. But that takes time. TC, here's another tidbit - every dam on the musky-harboring stretches of the Wisconsin River has places you can present, and catch, from shore or in waders. Take some time. Learn how musky relate to current, and how to present in current. The current is your friend, embrace it. 40 fish autumns are possible, fishing between classes.

Posts: 15 | Ya I go to Eau Claire and I am really careful with my musky spots for between classes. Even though a lot of people know about them
