Location: Des Moines IA | I've used Okuma Magdas for years now. Trustworthy to say the least. I have since moved up to the Okuma Convectors, and must say, they are definitely worth the money. I've had a 47C for a couple years now, and have found it to just not be as reliable as either the Magdas or the Convector. The gears seems to bind up under load, and I've had my local reel guy look at it, he said everything appears to be OK. In all honestly though, I should just send it in to Diawa. I am sure they would fix it. |

Location: Kingston, Ontario | Shimano Tekota LCs. Haven't tried any others but have been happy with the ones I got this year. Can always find them used for $125 or so. Check out salmon focused forums for them, they don't go for sale often but regularly enough. |
