I realize this is pretty much a big blade reel. Is it really poor for cranks, smaller bucktails, and rubber? Looking for info, not sure I want a reel for only big blades. Thanks. ABU

In my opinion the winch is only good for big blades and slow topwaters. If yuo plan on using it for other than that get the standard 5.4:1 instead. It just too slow of a retrieve for your standard and smaller bucktails and your rubber I also prefer the 60 series instead of the 50 for muskies.

I found that reel awesome for cranks, at about 18-20 inches of line pick up per handle turn, it works great for cranks. I have it paired with a St. Croix Lipstick Rod, I also use it for slower moving topwaters, like a hawg wobbler. I don't use it for blades, because it is so slow.

In a spring trip to Kinkaid, a friend of mine switched setups casting 10's. I had a Winch 60 and he had a 400TE. The resistance was similar between the two and the line pickup was nearly identical when compared side by side. We would cast to the same place and reel normally. Then we switched setups and did the same thing. After a full cast, the baits were to the boat within half a second. He had the spool filled nearly full and mine was filled to the rim. My winch now gets more use than before...

Is there a big difference between the 50 and 60, seems to have same amount of line retreive per crank. thanks.

The main difference between the 50 and 60 is the line capcity
