Hi All,
So among the gear I'm looking into for the winter is a new digital camera. Interestingly, I just ordered a little portable tripod that looks like it might come in handy no matter what I buy:
Ultrapod II
Item Number: 82059
Price: $13.99

Anyway, has anyone recently gotten a digital camera that's working out well? I'll probably be in the $300 or less range...

Thanks,
Papa Joe

I bought a new one just before Cass Lake outing. It's a Kodak DX4330. 3.1 MegaPixel, 3X Optical Zoom, 10X total zoom, and it takes video, too. Also got the Camera Dock II for it, extra memory card, Travel Kit and extra rechargeable batteries.

This thing takes great pics, and the software is easy to use. To load pics to the computer, just put it in the dock, and press a button. All auotmatic. Very easy to use. I think the camera is around $300 at Best Buy. I saw it online at Circuit City for $299. Here's a link:

Hi PapaJoe,

I just picked up an HP for $150.00 It can shoot a 30 second video, which I thought might be a cool idea for my clients and myself. Get a shot of them holding their mighty catch, then shoot a 30 second clip of the fish swimming away. Also has 4x digital zoom. A docking station is also available for it. Have fun!

Anyone else think this musky thing is addicting? (LOL)

I have a Panasonic 700X Digital Mini DV and still camera. This unit does an excellent job with up to an hour of mini DV tape, stereo sound, and is suitable for web video use. It stores up to 350 still shots on the M Card, has it's own light source, and a Zoom Michrophone built in. A very nice unit for about $500. It is set for an AMBICO tripod which reduces to as low as 16" with a wide base for stability.

It is compact, easy to use, and takes super pictures and great quality video.[:sun:]

oops: i fogot to list the link for the cool little tripod:

There's 2 versions, I grabbed the cheaper one...
Should be able to take photos of my catch even when I'm fishing solo. Now if I can get the muskies to cooperate, I am there!

later,

papa
