I was really busy this summer I finally got around to build some baits. This glide baits made of PVC, I installed red oak 1.5 inches long and epoxied them in dowel pins for the hooks and nose toe eye very strong
Here is a crappie that I painted

Yes it definetely does. I have build glide baits out of oak, had to do lots of tweeking to get them to work right. It eliminates all the cealing that you have to do with wood
You do have to install dowel pins 1/2 dia. made from hard wood for the hooks and toe eyes
