Word is Mike Conlin is being looked at for top dawg of the Illinois DNR. What do ya think? A Fisheries guy cant be bad at all. Manning has done a great job for the Illinois Muskie program though.

I think it would be great as long as they try to make a trophy musky potential in Illinois. There are some areas that could produce some monsters if properly stocked and maintained.

Already some great places that produce big fish in Illinois. As for Trophy fish 1/2 hour from chicago, how about Wolf in the city limits? Indiana State record Tiger is from there and I know they were supposed to start stocking naturals a couple years ago. Conlin is a big Lake Michigan guy I think, I hope that isn't all he focuses on. Plus side is they are not getting some politician crony but rather someone actually qualified.

Hey, maybe this guy will see the light and the benefit of fish barriers and lifting the 10hp discrimination rule in favor of a no wake rule. That might get me back musky fishing in illinois again.
