Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | Both photos above are shelf clouds, not to be confused with a wall cloud. Shelf clouds usually associated with outflow dominant storms where straight line winds and heavy rain follow right after the storm interacts with warm air.Wall cloud is at the base of a supercell with potential to rotate counterclockwise and possible funnel /tornado if the right conditions persist. Back to lightning .. cant say i have been caught in it,always on top of weather conditions.

Posts: 2754 Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | K- I take it back, its not a wall cloud - the photo has the wrong viewing perspective to accurately determine that. Still you need to run like hell! Straight line winds of + 60 mph are no fun either. Are we polishing mouse turd's here? Get off the water! Al

Posts: 5 | Ever see that episode of Wisconsin Waters and woods where Gillespie is trying to force feed Dennis Radloff a bratwurst during a tornado? The look on Radloff's face was priceless, and I don't blame him a bit. Scary stuff. Be careful out there guys.

Posts: 81 Location: NEW | I keep my 2 iron in the boat and hold it above my head whenever it starts to lightning because even God can't hit a 2 iron.
