| Love mine so far. I have not used it on the water, but will be at AML in August filming with Spanky Baits. I use it mostly with the kids in the pool. | |||

Posts: 512 Location: Appleton | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfKZFOuquhA Here is a video I shot using the GoPro Hero 2. I think it looks pretty good. Video work isn't amazing but I had limited time to put it together. I have another video on YouTube that has some underwater footage taken with the Hero 1. IMO the Hero 2 is a much nicer camera but both work well.

Posts: 127 | i use my gopro hd everytime i go out fishing. i'm often alone, so i have it mounted on my rear light post and always recording. that way if i get a fish it's on video and i can hold the fish up to the camera to get a photo off there as well. video quality is great, after all it's HD. But as with any camera you'll see reduced quality after dusk. however, the HD Hero 2's have increased low-light visibility so that may come in handy. in my opinion it's worth the money, you really can't go wrong with a waterproof camera like this one. just make sure you get an attachable floaty for it incase it were to get dropped in the lake, because a waterproof camera that sinks doesn't do you much good Edited by 10,000 Casts 7/11/2012 1:22 PM

Posts: 32935 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Final Cut Pro on the Mac, Adobe Premier on the PC. Roxio 12 is OK too, but has problems with 1080. If you shoot in 720, it's a nice editing program.

Posts: 32935 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Not as long as your processor, memory, and graphics/video card will get the job done, and alot depends on the codec you choose. What cpu does your computer have installed? Graphics card? How much memory? Hard drive a 5400 or 7200?

Posts: 113 Location: Northwest Wisconsin | Run of the mill laptop, AMD Sempron 2.10 GHz , ATI Radeon HD 4200 G-Card , guessing its a 7200 rpm HD. Even a small 5 min clip takes 20 minutes or more to prep before I can start editing it.

Posts: 32935 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | That's a single core processor, and is probably most of your issue. A dual core is way better, and quad even better. I'm running a Dell XPS i7 quad core with 8 gigs of ram, and twin 7200 rpm hard drives, basically comfortable to use desktop replacement. A refurbed desktop replacement can be bought for $485 up with an AMD quad core. My backup (fast unit) is an AMD Phenom quad core HP, cost was $469.00. A 720P h264 video a few minutes long takes a few minutes to render, and loads instantly into the editing program. 1080 is a bit longer. Mac is an iMac 2.4 GHz Core Duo dual core, few years old, running FC Pro, takes quite a bit longer if rendering in 1080, but still just a few minutes for a 3 to 4 minute clip. The iMac is also my easy chair moderating/editing/content publishing machine, I'm on that now. Nice 'puter.

Posts: 113 Location: Northwest Wisconsin | Gonna have to go shopping around for a new computer. Muskyhunter47 I have 2 of the first gen gopros and love them. You are limited in low light. You can pretty much mount them anywhere and now with the wifi remote its easy to keep the video lengths reasonable.

Posts: 32935 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Look at Tiger Direct, check out the 15" HP Quad core refurbed, dedicated graphics, nice machine. Might not be real easy to find there, but they have a few left, I think. This is a nice one too: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.as... or this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.as...
