Has anybody tried a MinnKota Vantage transom mount trolling motor? Any opinions? I'd be putting it on and Esox Magnum.

I ran the Minn Kota Vantage in a 12 and a 24 volt, and really liked the motor. it will troll down to almost a standstill, and will run all day at trolling speeds on two 115 amp batteries. I highly recommend it![]

The Minn Kota Vantage is a very nice trolling motor. My dad and I have had the 74 lb. thrust 24 volt motor for two years now and it still runs perfectly. The 4:1 steering ratio (I think) makes it very easy to use. Also nice if you will be doing some backtrolling. The automatic up-down feature is very convenient.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'll try it out. Looks like it will retract to clear the bottom of my esox mag.

Got the 74lbs Vantage up and operational. I like it already and haven't even had it on the water yet. Just a note for anybody looking...you've got to have 24 volts rigged properly for it to operate at all [:praise:]
