Curious if anyone has any insight into cost. I might pick up a ranger 680T with this motor on it. The boat needs a bit of TLC as it has been stored outside, but I think the motor outside of this is in good working order. I would have to drive cross country to get the boat, so I am trying to figure out if it is worth the effort. H

I'd say around $400 for rebuild at the right shop. That motor is bombproof. I have the 40 HP version of that, a 1984, with thousands of hours on it. Unless he really didn't take care of it at all, that motor should be money.

Thanks, the motor is great, just has not been run. The owner kept it in the water at a marina and never ran it and then pulled it out each fall to store. Thanks for the help. H
