| Random quote: A couple of young fellers were fishing at their special pond off the beaten track when out of the bushes jumped the Game Warden. Immediately, one of the boys threw his rod down and started running through the woods like a bat out of hell, and hot on his heels came the Game Warden. - (Added by: FISHFINDER101) |

Posts: 11 Location: Forest Lake MN | Shout Out To All Muskie Anglers, This Tournament is a great event, the owner of Mikes Bait Rich Robinson puts a lot of time and effort to make sure it is a great Tournament, low cost, great looking plagues that anyone of us would be proud to have on the wall, awards dinner banquet with door prizes, this event is a must if you like to put your skills up against some of the best muskie anglers in the Metro or State. I have Fished this tournament every year and will continue to do so. Looking forward to putting my skills up against yours. CJW The OMC.

Posts: 225 Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | When I was out looking at the lake last Sunday, the water was 78 degrees in about 3'-4' at 7am. By the time I left around noon, it was hovering around 80.5 on the surface. Not sure where it will be on Saturday, but I would expect it to be close to that, if not lower (given the rain this past week).

Posts: 654 Location: MPLS, MN | Heard water temps are under 80, mid 70's in some places right now as the tourny goes. I think 38 teams. Too bad I couldn't make it this year.

Posts: 28 Location: Sauk Centre MN | I'm doing this from memory so I might not be 100% accurate and I'm in no way an official or tourney rep. 3 Legal fish caught all day (40"+) 1st place 49.5" 2nd place 41.5" 3rd place 40.5" I think that's accurate. 38 boats total. Beautiful day, water temps between 76 and 80. The winner was caught at 7:10 am with most teams saying that most of the action came prior to 10am.

Posts: 225 Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | dmack and I were fortunate enough to find the winning fish... Not sure how this year's results compare with previous years, but here are a couple of photos Chris Munchow emailed me of the results. HUGE thanks to Mike's Bait on 8 for hosting a great tournament... I suspect a good chunk of it will end up back at Mike's. Water temps were mid 70's pretty much all day. Our action came in the first hour and a half, and the last hour and a half... all in about 4' of water. No shortage of pontoons or jetski's, but everyone we encountered kept a respectable distance. The tournament was my second time fishing Forest Lake (had to get in a practice fish after Dan entered us) and Dan's first, but I suspect we'll be around a lot more!
