I've been doing some planning to fish the river this season, I've been planning on hitting the areas between Stillwater and Hudson.. I've also been informed to try around the kinnickinnic River opening.. Im planning on focusing on tributaries to the river, flats, bars and small bays along the MN side.

Does anyone have any insight on where to launch your boat? Right now from what I can tell from a map that the launch on Anderson Bay (if open to the public) looks like itd be the best bet. Or if I wanna try to kinnickinnic it looks like I can put in around Afton.

Any helpful information on where to begin, tips, locations to try would be very helpful!!

Thanks ahead of time!

Hiya,

You can launch at St. Croix Bluffs park just south of the kinni narrows. You can buy a park pass that is good for the year for any of the washington county parks.

Has anyone fished around the Hudson area before?.. is it worth while?

VMS thanks for the tip, I am looking to put in maybe toward Anderson Bay up the river a bit, since it seems its from what I read about more populated for muskies?

Thanks 619, I see there is a public one in Afton, MN sort of near that as well also Beanies is up the river aways too.

Have you had any luck around there at all?

I've only been out a couple times in the evening and the community spots south of Hudson were worthless. Haven't heard much about the north of Stillwater bite...which means it's probably kicking out some fish.

For a few more tips Visit the PMTT website for info on the tournament results on that body of water a couple of years ago .
City park has a launch on the WI. side north of the I-94 Bridge.

Good Luck,...... Watch out for the Bikinis on the Sand bars going north on the river ! Some really NICE scenery on that river.

I've put in at Beanies a few times in the past. Right off #94/Hudson bridge. Couldn't get much closer to your posted request...
