Good motors. Carburated, so not great on gas. No issues with the oil injection systems.

Oil injection issues were on the older VRO systems of another mfg. Evinrude/Johnson or Yammy. One of those.

That's the 3 cyl, right? Not the "Classic 50" 4 cylinder.

I'd suggest Synthetic oil, like Amsoil. Run cleaner, smoke less, easier on the plugs. Also, add Stabil and Quick-Kleen to the tank and run it through the season, if it sits for periods of time.

I have one strapped to the back of the X170T. Great motor. We've had it since 2003 with no issues, and Slamr ran it for a couple years.

Been using Wal Mart TCW3 oil since the start, and run Sea Foam every other tank.

Opti oil is overkill. I just like the synthetics for less smoke, and easier on the plugs.

Hiya,

I agree with Shep on this one... His suggestion of Amsoil is an excellent choice!!. I have been running the HP injector oil in my 2 stroke motors and have yet to foul a plug from trolling, or for any other reason while running. It is only a couple dollars more than name brand oil, and...AND if you can find a local independent Amsoil dealer, you might be able to get it within a dollar of the name brands.

Steve
