| I have a Verizon phone and we're staying at Splitrock lodge. We were barely able to get coverage while standing on the dock but i heard a couple of cell towers were erected since the last time we were there. Did the coverage get any better?
Thanks!! |

| I have Verizon and driving through the Nestor Falls area last year my phone worked. I was up the road a piece @ Witch Bay and I had nothing there....which for me is actaully a good thing. |

| Been staying at Sabaskong Bay/Cedar Island which is just to the west of Split Rock and have had coverage from Verizon the last few years. Can't speak to Nestor Falls but there is a cell tower in Morson and most places in the heart of Sabaskong and to the west have coverage. |

Location: Milwaukee, WI | I've stayed at Split Rock the last 6 years. First few years we had terrible coverage, but I have had pretty good coverage from Sprint the last 3 years. (Ironically, I get terrible service with Sprint here in Milwaukee, and I just changed to Verizon).
Anyway, I am 99% sure that Mike (the owner) has Verizon that he uses on the island. I think you will be OK, but I'm sure if you call Mike he'll let you know for sure.
BTW - We aren't staying there this year, having decided to go West and try some more big water northwest of Morson. If you want any info on spots close to camp, I'll be glad to provide some. |

| Fishing the 2nd week of July should be great.. We've been going that week for the last 5 years and have had great success. There was another post I just read and someone said don't over think it - they are right. I used to have baits all over the bow of my boat. The last 3 or 4 years I've only used a handful of lures - bucktails, topwater, spinner baits and a suick. It's less about the bait and more about where you cast it.
Find points with some weeds/reeds and rocks. The more complex the structure the better. Look at your Canadian Hydro map for the little submerged rocks and fish them. Add a little wind and your good. |
