just checked ebay "beech wood lumber" and saw a few up. whys it you want to use this wood?

I wanna make a couple slow rise jerk baits. Read an article that beech wood is a good wood that needs lil weight..

I have used beach, soft maple is just a little lighter but not much. I like beach but some can get very heavy to the point of to heavy for some baits. Soft maple is a little more consistent also. I have had pieces of beach vary 2 ounces on a 8" lure.
